Noe Zamel, MD, FRCPC, FCCPCo-Founder, Chief Medical Officer

    Dr. Zamel’s professional life has been dedicated to understanding and improving the pulmonary function of humans. Most notably, Dr. Zamel is known for the discovery of the first gene related to asthma.

    Dr. Zamel established one of the most prestigious pulmonary function laboratories in Canada. He is the author of the seminal publication which resulted in the use of the flow volume curve as the most used test of pulmonary function in medical practice today.

    He is the co-inventor of a method of delivering methacholine as a dry powder for diagnosis of asthma and co-founder of a company established for the development of this invention. Dr. Zamel has published hundreds of articles, 56 of which are specifically on smoking and airway diseases related to smoking since 1962.

    Dr. Zamel is member of the American Physiological Society, American Thoracic Society, Canadian Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians (Fellow), Canadian Society of Clinical Investigation, Ontario Medical Association, Canada. Dr. Zamel is listed in the Canadian Who’s Who.
